24 today

Today is my birthday. I am turning 24. It's always a bit of a sore spot for me. Firstly I don't like ageing, especially since I've started the "real working struggling life". Secondly it is the 6th year in a row that I spend my birthday without my family. I have lived in London nearly 6 years and since my birthday doesn't fall on a school holiday, my parents and my sister are always busy at this time of year and can never visit for the day! Also since my boyfriend is British and we don't have much money it doesn't make sense for us to go to the east of France to celebrate my birthday. So last and this year, I have taken the habit of giving myself a few days at the seaside to celebrate. As you read this I am probably wondering why so few people are contacting me, and on my way to the train station to go to Worthing.

I will try my hardest to enjoy myself as always! I'm hoping for a surprise parcel from my family to come in the post and hopefully a card or two from friends? I'm not sure what will happen, with the invention of facebook, it seems like the easy way out to write happy birthday in capital letters to the birthday girl on their wall! Nowadays, you can count on the fingers of a single hand the number of people's home addresses we know! For that I am unhappy with technology, it makes it just that much too easy to communicate.

Anyway, I hope you're enjoying the photos in this article :) and I will be back next week!
